Integrated, Inclusive, Smart, and Sustainable Growth accompanied by a Growth-orientated Governance
It is becoming clear that South East Europe needs to ‘switch gears’ – and change its growth model by accelerating socioeconomic reforms and speed up measures to modernise and reindustrialise its economy so that the population can benefit from more new jobs and better living standards. In turn, this calls for concerted policy efforts at both the national and regional level, that are aimed towards guiding the region to a new development pathway.
Ensuring education and training systems to meet economic and labour market needs, providing learners with labour market relevant skills and introducing entrepreneurship key competence development at all levels of education and training (curriculum, teacher training, assessment) will safeguard a long-term economic growth perspective for a region which is looking for ways to change its development path towards a more value-added and a knowledge-based economy.
