ipcenter on a fact-finding mission to Algeria

ipcenter General Manager, Mr. Laszlo Kovacs and Head of IPU, Ms. Roxana Weiss-Anton had the opportunity to participate in a fact-finding mission from 14.04-18.04.2018 to Algeria.

Organised by the WKO (Austrian Economic Chamber) the trip combined meetings with representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture, Institute for Bio-agriculture, Chamber of Commerce, and much more with on-site installation visits in Algiers and Oran.

We are delighted to inform you that as a result of the mission, exciting cooperation possibilities have risen in form of concrete future projects in bio farming, tourism, renewable energy and the automotive industry. Furthermore, we composed a summary (below) of our visit to Algeria.

Day 1 – 15.04.2018 Algiers

On the first day the ipcenter team met with Mr. Mekerski, Director of the Training, Research and Extension Division of the Algerian Ministry of Agriculture and was invited to visit the ITMAS (Institut Technologie des Moyens Agricoles Specialises d´Alger) bio-farming installation.

In addition, Mrs. Weiss-Anton and Mr. Kovacs visited SNVI (Entreprise Nationale des Vehicules Industriels) in Algiers and met with Mr. Toukal, Assistant General Director for the Automotive Industry as well as with Mrs. Bourkaib, Head of Cevital Training Department.

Together with the local experts vocational educational needs were identified in the bio-farming industry, as well as in the automotive industry and as result opportunities for future collaborations and team work were established.

Day 2 – 16.04.2018

Subsequently, on Day Two our team met with Mr. Brahimi, Director of Studies and Cooperation Department of the Algerian Ministry of Training and Professional Education.

Our team also visited the Renault Academy Algiers and met with Mr. Bouaza, Commercial Trainer and Mr. Berkane, Training Center Manger of Customer Quality Direction. Fruitful meetings led to the establishment of partnership possibilities between ipcenter and the Renault Academy.

Furthermore, our team also met with Ms. Wahl, Resident Director of GIZ Algiers (German Society for International Cooperation), where ipcenter had the opportunity to discuss future cooperation possibilities. The second day ended with a meeting with Ms. Quattrin, Head of Programmes from the British Embassy Algiers and with Ms Casagrande, International Adviser from National School of Government International and examined collaboration opportunities for future projects in the region.

Day 3 – 17.04.2018 Oran

On the final day our team travelled to Oran to meet with Mr. Mehiaoui, President of Cluster Automobile and Mr. Benhadj, President of the Suppliers Stock Exchange. In addition, our team discussed and established concrete future projects ideas with INSEP (Higher National Institute for Vocational Training), as well as with Mr. Bounaame, Director of the CCIO (Chamber of Commerce and Industry Oran) and Mr. Benallel, CCIO Office Member.

Within this setting, ipcenter had the opportunity to present its areas of expertise from vocational trainings for adults and young people to current international projects in the field of bio-farming.
